| Brothers and Sisters, (Ephesians 5:15-16) See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. We are living in days that are filled with evil and the scriptures instruct us to walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise. That word “circumspectly” carries with it the idea of walking “above reproach”. The word “fools” refers to someone who denies that there is a God. (Psalms 14:1) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. How do we walk circumspectly in this evil world? Here is what the scriptures have to say about how we should walk. If we can follow the instruction given to us in the Bible, it will help us to “redeem the time we have left”.Follow the Lord Jesus Christ (walk as He walked)(John 8:12) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (Colossians 2:6) As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:(1 John 2:6) He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.Walk after His Commandments(2 John 1:6) And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.(John 14:15) If ye love me, keep my commandments.(John 15:10) If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.Walk in Truth(3 John 1:4) I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.Walk after the Spirit (not after the flesh)(Romans 8:1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Galatians 5:16) …Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.(Galatians 5:25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.Walk Honestly (not in rioting, drunkenness, strife and envying)(Romans 13:13) Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. (Note: “chambering” means cohabitation or sharing a bed out of wedlock; “wantonness” means all other vices).(1 Thessalonians 4:12) That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.Walk by Faith(2 Corinthians 5:7) For we walk by faith, not by sight.Walk according to Good Works(Ephesians 2:10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.(Colossians 1:10) That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;Walk worthy of Your Calling(Ephesians 4:1) I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,Walk not as Others who are Alienated from God(Ephesians 4:17-19) This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.Walk in Love(Ephesians 5:2) And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.Walk by the Same Rule and Mind the Same Thing(Philippians 3:16-19) Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
